About Unit Converter

Unit Converter is a small collection of browser-based unit converters, length, weight, temperature, volume, and others, built and maintained by Joe Koppin, a software engineer. It started from a simple annoyance: needing a quick, reliable conversion mid-task and being tired of ad-choked pages that take five seconds to load a single number.

Every converter here runs entirely client-side. No accounts, no backend processing your input, no database. That's not a marketing claim, it's a consequence of what this site actually is: a static export with no server-side application logic at all. The number you type is converted by JavaScript running in your own browser and goes nowhere else. See the Privacy Policy for the specifics.

Beyond the converters themselves, the Guides section covers the units in more depth: why temperature conversion needs more than a multiplier, why a "1 TB" drive shows less than 1 TB free, that kind of thing, for when a quick conversion isn't enough and you want the underlying explanation.

Unit Converter is part of the Ten Eleven family of free, no-signup web tools. The site is free to use and ad-supported.
